    WHAT IT IS

    About Heed

Heed is a real-time international tax intelligence platform that monitors multiple jurisdictions and tells you, in plain language, when a rule change, residency threshold, or planning window actually affects your specific situation. Think of it as an early warning system for international tax law, sitting between your accountant (who files once a year) and a tax calculator (which only shows you what you owe today). It is built for people whose tax exposure does not fit neatly into one country: digital nomads, expats, high net worth individuals with cross-border income or assets, and the financial advisors who serve them.

Four core audiences. Digital nomads who move between countries and need to track day counts, residency triggers, and remote-work tax rules. Expats with income or assets in more than one jurisdiction who need to know when something changes at home or in their host country. High net worth individuals with capital gains exposure, crypto holdings, offshore entities, or relocation plans where a single rule change can move millions. And financial advisors, tax attorneys, and family offices who manage clients across borders and need a single workspace to monitor every jurisdiction their clients touch.

No. Heed is an intelligence layer, not a tax advisor. We tell you what changed, why it matters to your profile, and what questions to bring to your accountant or attorney. We do not file returns, optimise structures on your behalf, or replace a qualified professional in your jurisdiction. Every change in your feed links back to the original government source so you and your advisor can verify it independently. Your advisor tells you what to do. Heed makes sure you arrive at that conversation informed, on time, and with the right questions.

Email support@heed.finance or use the in-app Support page. We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days; Circle and Advisor requests receive priority handling, without a separate published response-time guarantee.

Calculators are static: you input numbers and they tell you what you owe in one country, today, under current rules. Accountants are reactive: they help you file once a year, and most do not monitor changes outside the jurisdictions they specialise in. Heed is continuous and cross-border: we watch all jurisdictions we cover in real time, match every change against your residency, income types, and asset classes, and alert you the moment something shifts. We complement your accountant, not replace them. Most users describe us as the layer that makes their existing tax setup proactive instead of reactive.
    WHAT WE TRACK

    Coverage & data

We monitor multiple jurisdictions across five regions. Europe: UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Monaco, Andorra, Liechtenstein, and every EU member plus the Balkans and CIS. Americas: United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Cayman Islands, BVI, Bermuda, Bahamas, Panama, Uruguay, and the wider Caribbean and Latin America. Asia-Pacific: Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, China, Taiwan. Middle East: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon. Africa: South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Nigeria, and more.

Yes. For jurisdictions where the state, province, or canton materially changes the effective rate, we maintain sub-regional entries on top of the national-level data. This includes all 50 US states, all 26 Swiss cantons, the 13 Canadian provinces and territories, the 17 Spanish autonomous communities, the 8 Australian states and territories, the 36 Indian states, the 13 Malaysian states, and the 3 Belgian regions. The Scenario Planner and Position Optimiser use these sub-regional rates automatically when you pick a jurisdiction that has them, so a move from London to Geneva versus Zurich shows the actual delta, not a national average.

We run scheduled discovery against registered government, parliament, tax-authority, and reporting domains. AI helps extract structured fields, but it is not accepted as evidence. Automatic publication requires a high-confidence, citation-bound source from a priority authority registered for the same jurisdiction and category; a database trigger enforces the same rule. Anything that fails that contract is quarantined for human review. Every live change carries the primary source used to verify it.

When a change passes verification and is published, eligible paid accounts can receive an email alert without waiting for a digest. Discovery itself runs on schedules that vary by source and jurisdiction, so Heed does not promise detection within a fixed number of hours. Alerts are filtered against your residency, income types, and asset classes.

Both, and a stage earlier than either. The feed tags every entry by status: enacted (in force), proposed (introduced, not yet voted), and withdrawn (formally dropped). On top of that sits the Regulatory Radar: measures still being debated, coalition talks, public consultations, EU negotiations, before any bill exists, each clearly marked unconfirmed. Pro, Circle, and Advisor members see all of it, which is essential if you are planning a relocation, an exit event, or a corporate restructure where you need 6 to 18 months of forward visibility. Signal covers enacted changes. The planning window closes the moment a rule becomes enacted, the Radar is how you hear the door starting to move.

Every published tax change carries a source URL pointing to the official government bulletin, parliamentary record, or tax authority page where the change was announced. Every jurisdiction in the Tax Rankings table carries a last-verified date and a source link for each rate. Ask Heed, our AI brief console, returns inline citations alongside its answers so you can verify any claim. We do not publish anything we cannot point to a primary source for. If a source goes dark or is updated, the entry is flagged for re-verification.
    THE PRODUCT

    Features

The Change Feed is the core of Heed: a continuously updated stream of every tax law change across the jurisdictions we cover, filtered to show only the ones that actually match your profile. Every entry shows the jurisdiction, the change type (rate change, threshold change, new regime, withdrawn rule), the effective date, the affected income types and asset classes, a plain-language summary, and a link to the official source. You can bookmark changes, filter by status (enacted, proposed, or the Regulatory Radar for measures still under discussion), and click through to a detail view with full context and related changes.

Tax Rankings is a live comparison of all jurisdictions we cover across six income types: employment income, capital gains, dividends, crypto, rental income, and corporate tax. You can sort, filter by region, and drill into sub-national rates for jurisdictions like the US, Switzerland, Canada, and Spain. Every rate is sourced, dated, and verified. Tax Rankings comes with Signal, with side-by-side comparison and the full numeric breakdown. Pro adds sub-national filtering and integration with the Scenario Planner.

Scenario Planner is a what-if comparison tool for Pro members. Pick your current jurisdiction and a target jurisdiction, enter your income mix (employment, dividends, capital gains, crypto, rental) and asset exposure, and Heed shows you the side-by-side tax delta, the residency requirements to qualify, and an AI-generated narrative explaining the trade-offs (cost of living, currency risk, regime stability, exit tax exposure from your current country). You can save scenarios, compare multiple targets, and export a branded PDF for your accountant or family office.

Residency Tracker comes with Signal and every tier above it. It lets you log presence in any jurisdiction and runs dual-mode day counting against your goals. Set each country to either Avoid (stay under a threshold, typically 183 days, to prevent triggering tax residency) or Establish (build presence to meet a threshold and qualify for a regime). In Avoid mode a warning fires at 155 days, 28 days before the 183-day line. In Establish mode warnings fire at 50%, 85%, and 100% of your goal. So you never accidentally trigger residency in a country you are trying to avoid, and never miss the qualifying day count in a country you are trying to establish in. Supports unlimited concurrent jurisdictions with timezone-aware presence ranges.

A standard UAE residence visa is generally cancelled after 180 consecutive days outside the country, though Golden Visa holders are exempt, and the same shape of rule exists elsewhere: UK indefinite leave to remain generally lapses after two years away, an Australian permanent visa carries a five-year travel facility, and a US green card is generally presumed abandoned after twelve months. These rules measure one continuous absence, not the days you spent in the country, so an ordinary day-count tracker shows nothing wrong right up to the moment the permit is already gone. The Heed Residency Tracker, included from Signal up, has an opt-in re-entry clock for exactly this. You switch it on per country, enter the maximum absence your own permit allows, and Heed counts from your last logged entry, shows the date you need to be back by, and emails you at 30, 14, 7, and 1 days remaining, plus once if the window closes. Heed offers a suggested starting figure for a small number of countries, each with its caveat attached, but never applies one automatically, because the binding window depends on your permit type rather than on the country. Heed tracks the window you enter. It does not read your visa, connect to immigration authorities, or know which permit you hold, so confirm the number against your own permit and treat the countdown as a reminder rather than immigration advice.

Position Optimiser is a Pro AI tool that takes your full profile (residency, income types, asset classes, offshore entities, life-event horizon) and runs a structural analysis against every jurisdiction we cover. It returns a structured read, always as options with trade-offs rather than a single recommendation: which jurisdictions are structurally favourable for your profile, which regimes you might qualify for, which exit-tax exposures to watch, and which planning windows are closing. Advisor-tier users can inject any client profile to run the same analysis on their behalf.

Visa Match and Structure Match are Pro directories that answer "what are my options?" using source-linked programme and structure records. Financial Navigator is still in pre-launch verification and is available only to Heed administrators for quality assurance; it is not currently included as a usable customer feature. Insurance is under the same admin-only preview lock.

Ask Heed is a credit-metered AI tax brief console. You ask a tax question in natural language ("what changed for UK capital gains in 2026?", "what is the Italian impatriate regime?", "will the Portuguese NHR regime affect me if I relocate next year?") and Heed returns a grounded, cited answer based on the published changes database plus current jurisdiction data, alongside a list of accountant-ready follow-up questions. Signal gets 10 credits a month, Pro gets 50, Advisor gets 300, and Circle gets 300. Top-up packs are available on every paid tier.

Roast is a free viral tool that takes any jurisdiction and produces an AI-generated comedic take on its tax regime, with split-panel share cards designed for X and LinkedIn. No account required; an email unlocks your result. Limits: one roast per email every 30 days and ten per day per network. It exists for two reasons: it is genuinely fun, and it is the easiest way to get a feel for how Heed thinks about jurisdictions before you commit to an account.

Advisor Workspace is the B2B side of Heed, for tax attorneys, wealth managers, family offices, and accounting firms with cross-border clients. You get a multi-client dashboard with a firm and teams hierarchy, CSV client import, per-client residency tracking, white-label tax alerts sent under your firm name, client-specific notes and tasks, a public read-only share link per client, branded PDF exports, a weekly digest, and a compliance dashboard. Each client gets their own profile so the entire intelligence engine (Change Feed, Scenario Planner, Residency Tracker, Position Optimiser, Ask Heed) operates on their data, not yours. Starts at $5,099/year (from $425/month, billed annually) for 5 clients. Additional client plans start at $29/client/month and rise when the client gets their own Connected or Full login. Advisor is sold on an annual plan only.

Concierge is the planned done-for-you human relocation service, scoped separately from subscriptions. It is not live, has no published price, and no Circle discount is promised. The Circle relationship tier is also application-only with no public price or announced launch date.

A Relocation Brief is a plan for moving your tax position from one jurisdiction to another. Pro members run the Heed planning engine inside their dashboard and can generate and export the Brief themselves. The engine returns exactly two scenarios. Approved Circle access adds review and signature by a named analyst, with timing and any additional work confirmed case by case rather than sold under a public rate or fixed turnaround.

Marketplace is not live yet. The planned product is a directory of vetted cross-border specialists, but no subscription currently promises directory access, member rates, or a guaranteed introduction. Circle may arrange a warm introduction when a suitable vetted specialist is actually available; availability is assessed case by case. Future member privileges may be explored, but none is live, priced, dated, or guaranteed.

Ask Heed is the cited AI assistant on every paid tier (Signal includes 10 credits a month, Pro 50). The Relocation Brief is a move plan: Pro members generate and export it, while Circle adds analyst review and signature. Marketplace is a future directory and is not live. Concierge is a separately scoped done-for-you service, not part of a subscription. Advisor / Family Office is the B2B software tier for firms and family offices.
    B2B WORKSPACE

    For advisors

Yes. The Advisor tier is built around a multi-client workspace. Every client gets their own profile (residency, income types, asset classes, offshore entities) and the full intelligence engine runs against each one independently. You can switch between clients with a single dropdown, see a unified compliance dashboard across your entire book, and filter the Change Feed by client. CSV import lets you onboard your existing book in minutes.

Yes. Advisor-tier accounts can configure a sender name override on automated client communications so alerts, residency warnings, and digests appear to come from your firm rather than from Heed. PDF exports, the weekly digest, and the public client share portal all use your firm logo and branding. Clients see your firm; Heed runs invisibly in the background.

Firms sit at the top and contain members (with roles: owner, admin, analyst, viewer) and teams. Teams group clients and members so a large firm can scope visibility (for example, a Geneva team only sees Swiss-resident clients). Owners and admins can invite members, assign clients to teams, and manage the firm logo and branding. All clients are scoped to the firm, so member onboarding and offboarding is clean and audit-logged.

Yes. Every client record has a public read-only share link with a hashed token and an expiry date. Send the link to the client and they see a branded summary of their tax position, recent changes affecting them, and any notes you have chosen to surface. No login required on the client side. You can revoke the link at any time.

Advisor is sold annually: $5,099/year, which works out at $425/month, and includes 5 clients. There is no monthly Advisor plan. Additional clients start at $29/client/month, with Connected and Full access priced higher, and are metered through Stripe. You get 300 Ask Heed credits per month, the full Change Feed and Tax Rankings across all jurisdictions we cover, all advisor tools (Scenario Planner, Residency Tracker, Position Optimiser per client), white-label alerts, branded PDF exports, the weekly digest, and the compliance dashboard. Advisor accounts go through a Pay After Approval flow: you apply, we verify your credentials, then you subscribe.
    YOUR DATA

    Account & data

Yes. Your profile, residency, income types, asset details, and presence history are encrypted at rest and never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used to train external models. We do not share your data with advisors unless you explicitly invite one into your workspace. We are GDPR aligned, support data export and deletion on request, and run row-level security on every table so you can only ever read or write your own data. Authentication is email-based with optional TOTP two-factor authentication for high-sensitivity accounts.

Yes. You can export your full profile, residency history, bookmarks, scenarios, and Ask Heed history from Settings. Account deletion is self-service and removes all personal data within 30 days, retaining only the minimum required for legal and accounting obligations (suppression list for email compliance, anonymised payment records for Stripe). Advisor accounts have an additional firm-level export covering all client records for handover or audit purposes.

Yes. The Residency Tracker supports unlimited concurrent jurisdictions on every paid plan, starting with Signal. Each jurisdiction is configured independently as Avoid (stay under a threshold) or Establish (build qualifying presence) with custom day count limits (defaults to 183 where applicable). You log presence as date ranges with timezones, and Heed calculates rolling day counts, warns you at 155 days in Avoid mode and at 50%, 85%, and 100% of your goal in Establish mode, and surfaces conflicts (for example, if your day counts in two countries would both trigger residency).

Yes. TOTP-based two-factor authentication (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.) is available on every account from Settings. We strongly recommend enabling it for Pro and Advisor accounts where sensitive client and financial data lives. Sign-in attempts are server-side rate-limited and suspicious activity is logged. Admin and white-label advisor-firm accounts can require MFA at the firm level.

The minimum required to make the intelligence engine work: your email and authentication credentials, your declared tax residency, the income types you receive (employment, dividends, capital gains, crypto, rental, business), the asset classes you hold, optional flags for offshore entities and crypto holdings, your wealth bracket (broad band, used for relevance scoring), notification preferences, and presence history if you use the Residency Tracker. We do not store account balances, transaction history, bank details, or returns. We never see the numbers your accountant sees.
    PLANS & PAYMENT

    Pricing & billing

Yes. Signal, Pro, and Advisor are the paid tiers, billed through Stripe Checkout. Circle is members-only and joins by application. The public Tax Situation Roast is free and needs no account, so you can also get a feel for Heed without subscribing.

Signal is the entry tier at $12/month (or $10/month on annual, $120/year) and covers the Change Feed with real-time alerts, Residency Tracker, Tax Rankings, and 10 Ask Heed credits a month. Pro is $49/month (or $42/month on annual, $499/year) and adds Scenario Planner, Position Optimiser, Visa Match, Structure Match, the Relocation Brief, proposed-legislation monitoring, Regulatory Radar, and 50 Ask Heed credits a month. Financial Navigator and Insurance are admin-only pre-launch previews, not usable customer features. Circle is by application with no public price and adds a dedicated analyst, annual written structural review, analyst-signed Relocation Brief, private briefings, priority support, and 300 Ask Heed credits a month. Advisor is annual only at $5,099/year (from $425/month billed annually) for 5 clients, with additional client plans from $29/client/month. There is no free account; the public Tax Situation Roast is the free, no-account product.

Signal ($12/month) is the entry tier for the confirmed Change Feed, alerts, Residency Tracker, Tax Rankings, and 10 Ask Heed credits a month. Pro ($49/month) adds Scenario Planner, Position Optimiser, Visa Match, Structure Match, the self-generated Relocation Brief, proposed intelligence, Regulatory Radar, and 50 credits. Circle is by application with no public price; it adds a named analyst, annual structural review, analyst-signed Relocation Brief, private briefings, priority support, and 300 credits. A private network, salons and member events are planned future directions, not live or guaranteed benefits, with no announced date or price. Advisors and family offices need the Advisor tier.

Roughly 15% on the tiers that offer both. Signal drops from $12/month to $10/month ($120/year) and Pro from $49/month to $42/month ($499/year). Advisor is sold annually only, at $5,099/year (from $425/month). Circle is by application, so it is not on the annual-discount ladder.

Circle accepts applications, but Heed does not publish a price or launch date and does not guarantee admission. The intended relationship includes a named analyst, an annual written structural review, one analyst-signed Relocation Brief each year, private briefings, priority handling, and 300 Ask Heed credits a month. A private network, salons, member events and possible member privileges are planned future directions; they are not live, dated, priced, or guaranteed.

Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled anytime from the billing portal and stay active until the end of the current cycle. Annual plans run to the end of the prepaid period; there are no early-termination fees. You can move down to Signal at any time and keep your profile, bookmarks, scenarios, and history intact. Downgrading restricts feature access to the new tier but never deletes data, so you can upgrade again later without losing anything.

No. Payments are non-refundable. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the paid period. If a charge is incorrect or duplicated, contact support@heed.finance and we will investigate the billing error.

Yes. The public Tax Situation Roast works without any account at all and is the free way to get a feel for how Heed thinks about a jurisdiction. There is no free account tier; the entry plan is Signal at $12/month. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never store card details.

Ask Heed runs on a monthly credit allocation: 10 on Signal, 50 on Pro, and 300 on both Circle and Advisor. If you burn through your monthly allocation, you can buy top-up packs (10, 30, or 100 extra credits) through Stripe. Top-ups never expire and roll alongside your monthly allocation.

One tier, one subscription, two shapes chosen at onboarding. Advisors manage multiple external clients and switch between them; family offices manage their own entities (a trust, a holding company, each member) and switch between those instead. Both get the firm-wide workspace, the same intelligence engine, white-label exports, and one subscription billed by how many clients or entities you track. Five are included. Extra family-office entities are $29/month; extra advisor clients start at $29/month and rise for Connected or Full client access. Family offices sign up self-serve with no approval step. For a multi-firm group (several separate firms under one roof), a custom data feed, or API access, use the Book a call link on the pricing page and we'll scope it.
    ALERTS & RELEVANCE

    Intelligence matching

Every tax change is tagged with the jurisdictions it affects, the income types it touches (employment, dividends, capital gains, crypto, rental, corporate), and the asset classes involved. Heed matches every change against your profile using AND logic: a change must affect a jurisdiction you track AND overlap with at least one of your income types or asset classes before it surfaces as an alert. This eliminates the noise of "every tax change everywhere" and means a Belgian capital gains rule change does not ping you if you only hold crypto in Portugal.

Three likely reasons. First, the change does not match your profile (wrong jurisdiction, or affects income types and assets you do not hold). Second, the change is still in our draft pipeline awaiting human verification (we never publish on rumour). Third, status visibility differs by tier: Signal sees enacted changes, while Pro, Circle, and Advisor also see proposed legislation and the Regulatory Radar. If you think we missed something material, the Support page has a feedback channel that routes straight to the editorial team.

Email is the primary channel for real-time alerts, the weekly digest, and residency threshold warnings, sent from notify.heed.finance. In-app, alerts appear in the Alerts inbox with full detail and source links. Advisor-tier accounts can configure white-label sender names so client alerts appear under their firm. Browser push notifications are on the roadmap; the Heed Mobile App ships soon and is included on every tier from Signal up. You can configure granular notification preferences (real-time, daily digest, weekly digest, off) per jurisdiction and per change type from Settings.

Real-time alerts are triggered after a verified change is published and are scoped to changes that match your profile, on every tier from Signal up. The weekly digest groups relevant changes into a scheduled summary when enabled. Delivery schedules are operational settings, not a guaranteed detection or response SLA.
